When we travel in Aso, most of the time we travel by car but exploring there by bicycles gives us another view of it. This time, my friend and I rented bicycles at JR Aso station and visited some places, such as Shorai-zan observatory, Ogomori flower road, Shinchan udon restaurant for lunch, Yakuinbaru spring water for water station, Shimo shrine and came back to the station. During the trip, we have met kind and fun locals who told us interesting stories of their neighbors and that is the great thing about cycling trip. I have been to Aso many times but I could see it in different angle. It is still hot during the day but it has become cooler in the morning and night. It will be a good option to rent a bicycle and explore local places to find autumn in Aso. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen!

※ You can rent a bicycle at JR Aso station and they are available on a first come, first served basis. They open from 9am to 5pm and prices changes from 1000 yen to 3000 yen depending on how many hours you rent.
